The Autumn/Winter fashion trends are hitting the shops. All well and good.
The question is, should you be rushing in or running for the hills?
There are some trends for which only fools will rush in, others you will have to be wary of, and a couple
that should have stayed as drafts. Let's see what these trends are about.
You may think that in this post I am being tough on designers, but I will not fawn over designs that, frankly, make women look ridiculous. I prefer to see women feel and look amazing in fabulous clothes.
Please feel free to comment below and let us know your thoughts on these new offerings.
Today, I have been working my way through this fashion magazine article about the new trends. Please have a look at the photos in this magazine article first. My comments will make more sense.
I almost choked on my cornflakes this morning, reading about “elevated” sportswear. Yes, apparently, and all because a few designers decided it, you can now pair your anorak or hoody with a full tulle skirt and ornate earrings and oh là là, your look is somehow “elevated”!
Elevated to what? I ask.
Most likely to ridicule, is my first thought. But please let me know your thoughts.
No matter what is fashionable at any time, the concept of authentic French Chic remains the same. Sportswear is a type of clothing for sports or other such activities. This is fine. I have absolutely nothing against sportswear for sports. Just don´t dress it up as something it is not. Pig´s ear and purse come to mind.
As a quick reminder to designers: anoraks, hoodies and other sportswear-type clothing are not chic, even if you dress them up with feminine pieces. In my mind, this is another example of lazy "designing".
