What a gorgeous summer we are currently having in this little part of the world. And what better way to celebrate summer than to wear floral clothes?
Florals are big this season.
"Err, aren't they big every year?" I hear you say.
"Err, yes, but sshhh, let's play along. Let the designers think that they manage to dazzle us every single year with their new creations. Nothing is "new", remember?
So, here we are, surrounded by these beautiful floral dresses, tops, and yes, even handbags and shoes. Admittedly, I will draw the line at floral trousers. I have looked at dozens of them in shops and online and have not found one pair that would do justice to a woman's figure or style. So they remain a style non-non for me. However, if you beg to differ and have found a fantastic pair, please share a photo with us. This would be the equivalent of finding a unicorn grazing in your garden.
From what I notice everywhere, everyone seems to own at least one floral top or blouse. As you may have noticed, I am a fan of versatile clothing. You know, these pieces that you can wear with everything, anytime and which always look great. Versatility is an important quality in clothing. Many of us do not have the luxury of buying new clothes and shoes every weekend. So, when we do buy something new, the clever thing to do is to make sure they will earn their keep, so to speak. This makes sense if you want a wardrobe that works. Pieces should go with as many others as possible. This makes it easier to create outfits first thing in the morning. If nothing goes together, how long will it take to get dressed?
It is with this spirit of making clothes work harder, that I have chosen two skirts, two pairs of trousers and four pairs of shoes that will go nicely with one floral top or blouse.
The jeans, skirts and shoes that I picked are also versatile in themselves, as they go with many items from your wardrobe.
You can wear these shoes with each of these four outfits. The exception, I think are the black strappy heels. They don't not go well with the navy skirt or the white capri trousers.
All these pieces are classics. They go with most things and will be worn for many seasons. They are items to own for sure.
