Have you ever turned your gaze up towards the heavens and asked how you could lose a couple of inches in a few seconds? We all love instant answers. Especially when it’s to improve our looks.
Always passionate in my daily mission to help women revamp their look, I think I have found an answer to your question.
I'm going to give you five immediate inch-trimming measures to visually shave inches off your silhouette. I call these tips my little measurement-saving miracles due to the amazing, on-the-spot results they give, when applied. You will be astonished by the outcome. The other reason I call these my little miracles is that they provide a secondary reward, that you will soon discover. Read on to find out what they are.
These five ultra-fast tips, like all my advice, are very simple. The only difficult thing about them is to remember to implement them. Putting all of them into practice at the same time makes sense to me. Each little miracle works right alongside the others. Their effect is cumulative but their results are sub-tractive.
So here we go, one, two, three, four, five...
Miracle No. 1
This first little miracle is one that my Maman, bless her, has reminded me of on numerous occasions. Growing up, I must say that this is the one I most struggled with, due to my height. At 1.68m, you would not call me a giant but, as a teenager I used to tower over almost all of my friends. Consequently, so as not to feel out of place, I would lower my head and shoulders.
By now you must have guessed: this miracle No. 1 is “stand up straight”. Slouching or stooping is something we do without giving it a second thought. It could be to fit in due to shorter friends, as in my case, or when we are sitting down to get comfortable.
f you wish to appear slimmer, standing up straight is an easy thing to practice. By doing this, you will lengthen and straighten your body. This will make a few extra inches vanish from your waist and tummy area. Good posture is also a key requirement for an elegant appearance, by adding an air of grace and poise. Even if you are smaller, standing up straight is a tip you can follow. It will make you feel empowered, and full if life and energy. Do not be a shrinking violet.

Miracle No. 2
This second little miracle is easier if carried out in conjunction with number one. This one is “Proper breathing”. Breathing? I hear you say. Simple, non? Beauty is in simplicity, my lovely friend. Picture it in your mind. Better still, let’s do it together, right now.
Lengthen your body by sitting or standing up straight, shoulders back. Tuck your tail bone under lightly and tense your tummy muscles a little bit. Feel as if you are suspended from the sky by a wire that is attached to the top of your head. Now, take a deep breath in, using your diaphragm not your chest or shoulders. Put your hand on your upper tummy and feel your diaphragm working. Many people breathe with their chest and shoulders which leads to shallow inefficient breathing. Breathing with your diaphragm fills and empties your lungs from the bottom, flushing out stale air and toxins.
You can feel the difference in a split second, right inside you. You feel taller, thinner. Your tummy feels flatter, emptier. You can almost sense that your organs have been tucked in, deep inside you. If you do this exercise in front of your full length mirror, the effect will be instantly apparent.
By witnessing their immediate visual impact, you can now understand why I call these exercises my little miracles.
Miracle No. 3
The effect of this third little miracle will be twofold, you may be happy to hear. This step is simply to “Lift your head”. First, your face will lose a few inches visually, by merely holding your head up. As you look up, your eyes will now become the centre of attention. Your double chin and any other unsightly folds of skin will disappear. You will allow your beauty to shine through. Yes, you are beautiful.
Did you notice that the mere fact of holding your head up seems to miraculously lift your mood? I believe that looking down can do more damage to you and your psyche than a bad day at the office ;0) .
So, to feel on top of the world, you know what you have to do, sister. Yes, that’s right: lift your head up!
Miracle No. 4
Our fourth little miracle is all about your bust. I presume that you have a good supporting bra on? If your answer is a resounding yes, this is perfect. If not, please read a previous post and watch my valuable video on the subject of bras here.
Now, while in addition to using the first three little miracles, "jut out your bust". Not so much that it looks silly but enough that you don't slouch or round your shoulders.
Why, you may be wondering, are we talking about your bust in this post on losing inches off your body? You can't possibly reduce your bust size instantly, can you? Well, take a brief moment to observe your upper body in the mirror. Firstly, if your bust is not looking proud, you will notice that your torso looks unrefined and a tad inelegant. It doesn't matter your bust size, whether large or small.
All of a sudden, this forward motion will elongate you upwards. Your waist then becomes more evident, more trimmed. And, as a gift that keeps on giving, not only will it shave inches off you but years too!
Miracle No. 5
Finally, our fifth little miracle. This one is not about posture, deportment or poise. You're going to love me for this one. It's "put your high heels on" , girl! Your must-have accessories will instantly add inches to your height and, at the same time, subtract width from your body. As a third bonus prize, your legs will look longer, leaner, shapelier.
Let’s face it, who doesn’t desire longer, leaner legs?
Of course, there are many other ways to look slimmer immédiatement. I have many other tips on using French Chic to look slimmer. However, the above tips are a no-brainer, and can be put into effect straight away to see immediate results.
So, come on, stand up straight, breathe properly, lift your head up, jut out your bust and put your high heels on!
