Since publishing my last book PLUS SIZE, I have received a number of requests for outfit ideas for the plus sized among you, my gorgeous friends.
Your wishes are my command, as the good Genie said, so we continue on from the last

Little Black dresses for Curvy Women and Curvy Girl Chic
Today, I took inspiration from Marilyn Monroe in the photo of her in a simple pencil skirt and shirt. Nobody can say that this sex symbol didn't know a thing or two about looking glamorous.
"I'm very definitely a woman and I enjoy it!" - Marilyn Monroe
Far from daring to match her skills in this domain, bien au contraire, I have tried to recreate her sense of style in my board. I hope that I did her justice.
Many plus sized women feel that, just because there is less choice in shops catering for their size, they cannot put together a look that will give them the sophistication they are after.
The look I put together here is simple and elegant, yet perfect for showing off your curves à la Marilyn.
I chose the pencil skirt for its black stripes at the sides, slimming the silhouette. My beloved readers will vouch for the fact that I am a fan of these 'optical illusion' garments. They are cleverly colour blocked so that the body of the wearer appears slimmer than it actually is.
I paired this skirt with a black sheer fitted blouse. Fitted garments flatter your curves. Stay away from shapeless clothes at all costs, as they will make you look round or square. By the way, when I say 'fitted', I don't mean 'tight'.
The nude jacket is to die for. The V neck will elongate your torso and the tie at the side will give you a feminine shape at the waist. Marilyn would approve.
Overall, the outfit shows sophistication without the need for extra embellishments. Here we let the lines speak for themselves.
The nude heels help to keep the look elegant and sophisticated. I added a welcome accent of colour with the bright orange handbag, which works great with this outfit.
Adding a statement necklace, maybe in bright orange too, would spice things up even more.
Marilyn Monroe may be considered plus sized by some people, but this beautiful woman loved her curves and always made the most of them.
