The 11th Commandment: Thou Shalt Not Wear   Jeggings

9/1/2014

Comments

Bonjour à Tous,

If leggings weren’t bad enough, here we are, faced with even worse, if that is possible: Jeggings.

Apparently a mix between jeans and leggings. Non non, I kid you not.

What a concept!

They are neither jeans nor leggings. Jeans are great for everyone, from babies (how cute) to XXXL.

Once you find the style and cut that suits and fits you, you are on to a winner with jeans.

From casual to smart, worn with any top or jacket, jeans are a staple of everyone’s wardrobe, from nought to 100.

And thank goodness for that, what would we do without jeans, I ask you?

Leggings, however, are only a glorified (for want of a better word) pair of tights.

Tights were not meant to be seen in their entirety. Like tights, the only part of the leggings that should be seen is the leg and knee area, that is all.

The problem is that many women wear them as if they are trousers and they were never meant to be.

Because of their flimsy, stretchy fabric, they have a tendency to cling to delicate areas, if you know what I mean, and give an eyeful to all and sundry.

Not a good look, either from the front nor the back.

If leggings are to be worn at all, it is with long tunics or dresses over them, never with short tops, non non non.

If that was not bad enough, a monstrosity is making its way to a street near you: the jegging.

No longer black, mais quelle horreur, they are now in different hues and patterns, from leopard prints to psychedelic patterns, some of them even trying to mimick jeans, hence their name.

This is a pure insult to style. Coco Chanel must be spinning in her grave.

This blog is a call to all women with a good sense of style: Let’s unite and march against these jiggly jeggings.

Let’s say NON! to crimes against style and let’s spurn the lure of these oh so comfortable abominations.

Let’s be chic and elegant in well-cut clothes that make the most of our womanly silhouettes.
