The Hazards of Harem Pants

18/8/2017

Comments

Harem Pants.
Where do I start?
In a nutshell: Non! Just non.
Don't do it.
Don't wear them.
No ifs, no buts (no pun intended).

In French Chic, we wear clothes that suit us, that flatter our silhouette and our body shape. I completely subscribe to the idea that clothes should flatter you.
I don't see harem pants fitting any of these criteria. Do you?

So, what will be the undesired effects of harem pants on your lower body, you may ask?

Please look at this image again.
If you can´t clearly see the unfortunate effects, even on this tall, slim model, let me list them for you one by one:

1 - The low crotch gives you a low and saggy derrière.
Who would want that, I ask you? We try to fight this every way we can (especially as we get older) so why would we give ourselves a saggy bottom on purpose?

2 - The low hanging crotch implies that you may have a problem... ahem...I'll leave it at that.

3 - The shape of the trouser legs will shorten yours in a jiffy. Yep!

4 - Harem pants will thicken your legs from the ankle or knee up.

So, let's summarise the wonderful effects of harem pants on your lower body:
- Squat legs? Tick.
- Flabby legs? Tick.
- Thick legs? Tick.
- Low, flat,  flabby and saggy bottom? Tick, tick, tick and tick!

The flattering effects of these harem pants on your silhouette?
ZERO.

What do you think of harem pants?
PS: If you have ever worn these, we forgive you ;0)

Do NOT make this kind of style mistake ever again by subscribing to the French Chic Daily.
