The Worst Style Advice You Can Ever Receive

The Worst Style advice You Can Ever Receive
There is plenty of style advice out there.
There is some good advice and some that varies from unhelpful to downright contradictory.
Is it any surprise then that so many women get confused as to which advice they should follow?
With good style advice, women transform their wardrobe, their style and yes, even their life. When they dress well, they feel more confident and more beautiful too.

However, with bad style advice, women wear anything with anything. Their outfits don't flatter them. Some don't care or don't notice. Others feel there's something wrong but don't know how to put it right.

You often hear silly advice such as:

- 'You can wear anything'.
- 'It's fashionable so wear it'.
And the one that makes me cringe: 'Everybody's wearing it!' This one alone should make you run a mile!

But the worst advice is: 'Wear what you like'.

Do you ever ask your friends for style advice only to be told 'wear what you like'?
Do you find this advice helpful?
Or useless and confusing?

To be fair, it probably comes from a good sentiment, as they don't wish to upset you. However, wouldn't it be more helpful to hear the truth, that they just don't know?

With the advice to 'wear what you like', isn't it surprising that so many women get confused as to which clothes to wear?
If the only consideration to looking great was whether we liked our clothes, there would not be any problem.
Heck! Wear what you like and you will look fantastic!
Wouldn't we all love this to be true?
Style made easy!
There are many clothes that I like but will never wear because I know they don't suit me and don't  flatter me.

The cold hard truth is that wearing what you like is NOT enough.
Y
ou have other things to consider.

You see, in style and certainly in French Chic, we consider:
- Our body shape (this is a MUST!)
- Our height
- Our size
- Our complexion.

We also take into consideration "The Three Pillars of French Chic" (an expression I coined a while back). If you are unfamiliar with my Three Pillars, they are:
- Keep It Simple
- Less is more
- Quality not Quantity.

Whether you like an item or not isn't the only thing to consider in your quest to dress well. This is why style advice such as: 'Wear what you like' is the worst style advice to ever receive.
